Paid Positions at IPOP

Our support playworkers underpin the one-to-one support provided to disabled children and young people. We recruit, vet and train new support playworkers six times a year. In particular, we always need more workers over the summer to support children and young people at holiday playschemes.

Support playworkers are partnered with a disabled child/young person on a one-to-one basis, and placed in a local club that caters for children of all abilities. The role of the support playworker is to enable the disabled child/young person to access & join in the activities on offer.

We offer an extensive training programme for all staff to enable them to undertake this role as well as supervision and support from an appointed line manager.

THE NEXT ROUND OF RECRUITMENT FOR SUPPORT PLAYWORKERS TAKES PLACE IN OCTOBER 2010

Our Youth Support Workers help us with our partnership with Barnet Youth and Connexions Services and other organisations in the borough providing youthwork and activities to young people.

IPOP Youth Support Workers are placed in youth centres and holiday activity schemes to support groups of disabled young people to join in the programmes. They work closely with the IPOP Youth Coordinator and the youthworkers at the centres to help identify young people in need of support and improve access to the activities.

We require a small team of Youth Support Workers for regular term time evening and weekend work and during school holidays.

These roles may be particularly suited to youth and community work students and those with some experience in the field of youthwork.
